Before we were a family of six, traveling was much easier. I could pretty much gauge how much time we needed to prepare and get ready. Now that we’ve added the two babies, I struggle with everything. I struggle getting myself and them dressed. I forget things for their bags, and most embarrassing of all, we’re always late!
Let me start by saying that I really do hate being late. I‘ve always been taught that being late is distasteful and a sign of disrespect. Despite my best efforts, I’ve not quite gotten our new routine mastered. It seems it takes forever to get out of the door. I know that as time goes on, I’ll get better at it. And above all else, I have to remember to extend myself grace. I’m thankful to have a great supporting cast to my shenanigans. Jordyn is probably the biggest help because she is the oldest. I try not to rely on her too much, because she too is a child. But I would be lying to deny that I don’t appreciate her help. Lauryn is a big help too and I am so proud of the bond that the oldest two have formed with the babies.
So, if you invite us somewhere or are expecting the whole crew, just know that we’re doing our best and we would never dishonor anyone by blowing off their time. Until I master this skill, I will prematurely offer sincerest apologies for any inconvenience that we may cause. Please know that we are trying and we are human! Join us tomorrow for Blogmas Day 6!
