My kids and I went apple picking for our first homeschool field trip. Not only was it fun, but we yielded a bountiful crop of red delicious and golden delicious goodies. We had too many to eat! So we set out to make apple treats. First up, Southern Apple Crisp. It was to die for and because the apples were already so flavorful, I added little sugar and it still turned out amazing. My kids took one look at the oatmeal topping and made up in their mind that this must be an adult dessert, lol. You know the kind I mean, right? Desserts such as oatmeal raisin cookies and peanut brittle are considered adult desserts in my house. If it isn't drenched in chocolate or ooey and gooey, my kids are questioning its true dessert status. None-the-less, they gave it a try, and even they found it to be warm, yummy, and a signal that fall is here yall!!! If you're anything like me and long for cooler days, chilly nights, pumpkin spice, and sweet potato pie by the slice, this one's for you!!!!
I may have gotten two tablespoons out of this entire pan. It was heavenly and like all things heavenly, they leave us too soon. Let me know what fall treats you can't wait for. And if you happen to give this recipe a try, leave a comment and tell me what you think. Happy fall baking yall!!!!
